2023 Season
Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre is one of the oldest continuously-running community theatres in the United States and we are excited to announce that we are in our 101st season! Download our flyer and follow along as we celebrate a century and continue ensuring our legacy.
Dracula
The best dramas have the best villains — like the
immortal Count Dracula. An American producer saw this adaptation of Bram Stoker’s 1894 novel in 1924 at London’s Little Theatre, and brought it to Broadway. Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre staged it in 1980. It returns as the first production of the 101st Season.
Stage Play by Hamilton Deane and John L. Balderston
From Bram Stoker’s novel
Dracula is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.

Grease
Who doesn’t love Grease? The late-50’s rock-n-roll score brought a whole new rhythm to the Broadway musical, and we’re still hopelessly devoted to Danny, Sandy, Rizzo, and Kenickie. After a 25-year hiatus, LTWB is ready to take Greased Lightning for another joyride!
Book, Music, and Lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey

Picasso at the Lapin Agile
Although Steve Martin is better known as a talented performer, he’s also the author of four plays. One is slightly ‘wild and crazy:’ the brilliant, funny, and very much offbeat Picasso at the Lapin Agile. Among the characters are Picasso, Einstein, a guy named Schmendimann, and one who may or may not be Elvis. You can find out who else shows up in May.
Stage Play by Steve Martin.
Produced on the New York stage by Stephen Eich and Joan Stein

The Wizard of Oz
Is there a movie more beloved than The Wizard of Oz? It’s the perfect film for a musical adaptation: the world is suddenly more colorful, everyone is transformed into someone extraordinary, and everything is controlled by a guy behind a curtain. Little Theatre will stage the outstanding1987 Royal Shakespeare Company adaptation this June.

One-Acts
The one-act play is a delightful format. So much can happen in around half an hour. In August, we will stage a weekend of both original and well-known short plays chosen from submissions by playwrights and directors. Even we don’t know what they’ll be yet! Watch our website and social media next summer.

The Wedding Singer
The Wedding Singer is a musical with music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin, and a book by Beguelin and Tim Herlihy. It is based on the 1998 film of the same name. The musical revolves around Robbie, who sings at weddings, his failed relationship with his former fiancée, and his romance with a new love, Julia.

The Rocky Horror Show
Little Theatre first produced The Rocky Horror Show, in 2014. As the midnight show let out, Main Street was awash with a happy crowd in heels, fishnets, and feather boas—and the women looked fantastic, too. Rocky returns for a very special weekend, including a MIDNIGHT show! Will it be different this year?
